Farmers' Market Salesperson – Microgreens Specialist
Part-Time, 1-4 Days/Week (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday)
$15-$18+/hr Depending on Sales/Market Experience
June through October

Role Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable vendor to join our
farmers' market team! This role focuses on live cutting and weighing microgreen
boxes and actively pushing sales through creating custom samples for potential
customers. This is a part-time on-site role. We are based out of Glenview, IL
but the markets will be located either in Winnetka, Highland Park, Evanston,
Lake Bluff, and surrounding areas. The responsibilities for this role include:

• Arriving on-time to help set-up and break down the vendor booth at the market
• Live cut of microgreens – cut and weigh each fresh order per the customer’s request
• Engaging with customers by making samples and sharing provided information
• Showcasing new products and upselling
• Handling transactions – both cash and credit
• Prepare and present custom salad samples to prospective buyers
• Actively reach out and offer samples to people walking by
• Maintain food safety standards and cleanliness

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales experience helpful
• Some experience in retail or farmers' markets preferred
• Interest in health and nutrition
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Reliability and punctuality are essential
• Food handling certification is required and will be compensated
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to be flexible in different situations – farmers’ markets aren’t always perfect
• Able to lift 50lbs and stand for 4-6 hours
